Love Poems

Her Myopic Thoughts

The irony of my love is hard to fathom,
for you assumed silence
when I was weaving dreams for you,
keeping you in my prayers,
holding in the fold of my heart,
and showing you with copious ornate
of my earnest love.

But the day I confronted you
on your pretentious quietude
you spoke.
Alas! You turned rogue,
discarding all my yearnings
suddenly at once,
putting words on my mouth
that I never said,
and misconstruing my feelings
with the convenience of
your myopic thoughts.
