The Hope Survived

In response to Manic Sylph prompt Hope burst forth in the heart of a spring lover

You bit your lower lip
gnawing it with your even keel teeth
to a crimson red
putting all your might
to resist that smile
to grace your labium

And the rebozo
that shroud your visage
yet stealthily revealing
every emotion
through those curious
doe-shaped eyes

The fidgety hands
the wayward walks
guffawing sometimes
and at times hiding those thoughts
in a wryly smile

All said and unsaid words
burst forth hope
through the heart
of the spring lover
