I let you go,
not because
my love for you ceded,
or I got used to
living without you,
neither because
the songs we loved to hum together
have a change of heart,
I let you go
because the externalities crowded
your mind
and love got disseminated
in the thin air of nothingness
and I know
that love we called ours
doesn’t belong to us anymore
If I am wrong
then let the love we kindled
warmth the hearth
that has dampened
in the coldness of times
