Braving Battles

My blithe soul has tall guards,
made up of steel and grit
the walls may be transparent
showing the softer me
and I might welcome everyone
without any prejudice or stated decree
yet no one can invade
and exploit my peace,
for no sorrow has the grit
stronger than me
and sadness always fail to display
any pretentious charade
to deceive me
and every time they try dragging me
to some abstruse oblivion
they fail with absolute misery

And when such occasions present
and brush past me
I hold them as moments of pride,
wearing them as my battle scars
for I have nothing ever to hide

  1. I wish I could do that.๐Ÿ˜’ People always destroy my inner peace.
This was inspiringly beautiful. Will save this one.๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. The word Hope reminds me of someone who is no longer same, and it’s difficult to use the word Hope when it reminds me of him every single minute.๐Ÿ˜

  3. I need to be stronger even though my vulnerabilities may be stark naked to the world!

    Great post Shantanu.

  4. Battle tested, guarded, lesson learned and lessons earned. Sometimes when the war is over, thatโ€™s when the real battle starts and building that wall can be the hardest. Wonderful symbolism of being and staying strong. Positive message and powerful.

  5. Well expressed! But what do I expect from you? Your writing is incredible and it just gets better with each post.

  6. Penned beautifully so expressive. Battle ready and equipped. Persuaded by hope to remain in peace. No matter what comes. -Yonnie๐ŸŒธ
