Her Rebellious Self

The storm didn’t deter her,
nor did the long standing gale,
she stared the squall with defiant eyes
her grit stood tall oozing through pain

And though the world detested her
leaving her in a shallow rife
her rebellious self refused to bow
fighting back with sheer pride

The values she stood for
the gallant force she racked
the opinions she garnered
the beliefs she draped
all such thoughts illuminated her soul
in an otherwise crowded obnoxious world
