Slinky Unrest

In the shadows of the promenade light she walked with leaden steps, and her eyes left behind a putrid reek. And at yonder the fetid ether wrapped the world around her in slinky unrest but she wasn’t aware

Passing Thoughts

The sky had a different shade of blue, It was the turquoise one that dazzled in the bright afternoon sun blinding my eyes. The feathery thin white cloud scattered sparsely over the horizon, and when I watched the white patches for long, I saw patterns of faces and shapes. Like the Pinnochio’s nose protruding into oblivion. And then between the various morphed images, I saw a blurry face of a long lost friend, beaming with the same curious enigmatic eyes, that used to put me into a spin.  And all of a sudden, the days from yore stood next to me teasing me from yonder.

And She found hope…

The wind was blowing a tad stronger tonight. The tall shadows of trees visible a while before were now consumed by the darkness of the ghoulish night. Amanda increased her pace as she moved hastily to reach home. The intensity of the eerie was increasing by the minute and the whooshing sound rattled whatever sanity she had conjured thus far.

Form grayness it became pitch dark in a trice. Nothing was visible. She rubbed her eyes to get a view but all it did was increased the obscurity of the blur. Her phone was almost about to die and she dreaded to use it to illuminate the way, but she had no choice left. With reluctance, she put the phone light on. The narrow beam penetrated the darkness with a ray of hope.

Her steps were cautious but it also exhibited haste. And trapped in her convoluted bearings she missed seeing the ditch and fell with a hard thump. While her phone was a few feet away, her spirits were tossed many miles apart. She was broken and lost all hope of survival. The howling of wind had intensified so were some monstrous souls of the ghastly night.

Though fear loomed her existence the urgency was lost. She picked her wretched soul and stretched to reach her phone. The screen came to life and she saw the smiling face her mom hugging her tight. The round doe shaped eyes of her mom appeared intriguing in that lonely surround.  A surge of hope embraced her soul, for she was not lonely anymore

The Old Building and the Girl

Hey, Friends, I recorded a flash fiction. You can listen to it by clicking the below link.

The old building and the girl

The old building has a charm of its own. Standing tall for eons, surviving the testing times. Layers of dust have wrapped it over time inch by inch, draping the structure in many shades of grayness. The walls exhibited resilience as it quietly observed the junction, crowded with people from all walks.  Maybe the only reason why it stood there defiantly all these years with an uncalled eagerness, for there isn’t any dull moment to accost. As the day advances, so is the chaos. The moving traffic, cars honking, and a cacophony of voices escalate with every passing moment.

Amongst all such oddity there exist this girl on the top floor of the edifice, whose charm brings an unseen calmness to the otherwise tumultuous walks. She possesses the flair of a gorgeous dream, the hope of a beautiful tomorrow, and the charm of an enticing past. Often she walks the serpentine corridors with hair flowing carefree, wearing an ingenuous smile, bringing meaning to an otherwise anarchic surround. Maybe the only reason why the dilapidated building, the bustling street and the sea of people come every day, maybe to experience peace in the shade of her serene presence.

My Story, Fifty Dollar Bill Published in Indian Periodical

Friends hope you all are having an amazing weekend. Maybe you didn’t know, here is a small trivia about me. I love writing fiction. Stories of all kind – flash fiction, short stories, proses, novella, anything that can make my mind run wild😀. Some of you may know I wrote one full-length book( currently in the last stage of editing) and writing my second book in parallel😀. On WP I have not published any of my stories, maybe some proses but not stories. Mostly because I was saving them for the publications😜.

Today, I am happy to let you know that one of my stories got published in Indian Periodical. It is a work of fiction but inspired by an incident that happened in real life. You can find the link below. Please read and let me know what you think. It will be great if you can leave your comments on the website, provided you find it interesting enough. Thank you all for your love and support
