The heart’s suffering,
burning down to shades of gray,
like some cold vapor thin ashes
of some residual charcoal in disgrace,
blackened and fast disappearing
to a state of oblivion,
the universe reducing to absurdity,
the hopes bleak,
faith disarmed,
surrendered to the atrocities of this thing called life
And then she came
like a gentle breeze,
love survived under the gentle warmth of her innocent smile,
everything appeared attainable
no mountain was hard to climb,
no peaks were impossible to soar,
no ocean was deep enough not to be explored,
and with hope in the fold of her twinkling eyes,
the soul remained in blithe,
and the world a beautiful place to thrive
he survived
