Shattered

Like how we take everything for granted,
the freshness of the northern breeze,
the fragrance of a distant belief,
the nature’s dazzling smile,
the happiness of gorgeous larks,

and then like some unprecedented curse the devil smiles
and all the freedom that we thought is ours is taken away in a whiff and
we stand in despair, aghast and asphyxiated
