Drifting slowly
away from the pretentious charade
that the ostensible world put forth
she left
with clouds in her arms
and dreams in her pocket
and it didn’t matter
how her milieu treated her
for her heart was smiling
thinking about the possibilities
that await her
so was her mind

Lovely poem! I love the length and depth; I feel like it could be applied to a woman decades ago who wanted something her time did not believe possible for a woman or even a woman today with those beautiful “dreams in her pocket”.
