You own that most beautiful house on the hilltop
overlooking the horizon
and the deep blue sea
you drive the most exotic cars
one we see in the movies
and most of us can only imagine owning,
the vacations you take
the parties you throw,
the dreams you sell,
the smile you wear
you are the epitome of what success is
but despite such more than perfect life
you are delirious from inside
a plastic life you live
for you can never settle with what you have
you are always chasing the next best desire
you, my friend, is captivated
in a web of avarice

without contentment your life will never truly be happy.
So elegantly depicted your words are so descriptive. Touching each level, with such great expression. Withholding nothing leaving no stone. πΈπ
This is true, of so many people. We should cherish everything in life and be happy with what we have, as it could get snatched away in an instant. Then what would we be left with, a very sad existence. Nobody likes a greedy monster(sorry, but the monster bit made me laugh, lolπ) Lyndsey.π
You are absolutely correct. Thanks a lot Wendi
I so so appreciate you kind adulations. Much humbled by your kindness
You are absolutely correct. Thanks for getting the essence of my poem so well. Monster made me laugh too π
I know, I can’t help being right all of the timeπand I always get the essence of everything you write. You convey your feelings so well to the reader and I thought that monster thing would make you laugh, lolπ
Absolutely gorgeous ππππ
No man can tell whether he is rich or poor by turning his ledger. It is a heart which makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is and not according to what he has.ππ
It is always a delight to read your comment, words and workπ
Thanks so much for reading it so beautifully my friend

Beautiful words, beautiful picture, and so true!ππ
Learning to be content with what we have no matter how little can be very rewarding instead of chasing after insecurities.
Not a good place to be for sure! Contentment is so important.
The plastic life , The plastic smile …. just canβt relate to it . So well written . Each word takes me to places π₯°

Such profound description of a man’s life in just a few words. The hysterical activities don’t allow us to be ecstatic from the heart!
Thanks so much Samyak for your beautiful words
Can we really be happy with what we have? There is always something else that we want!
Brilliant! I love the line, “a plastic life you live” – so, true of many who have it all.
