Her smile
like some squeezed emotions
wrapped in a vacuum
plastered on a wall
trapped in a frame,
unreal,
vestigial,
like a worn out dream
from a distant past
And her eyes,
hollow,
dried,
crying but no tears,
like a lost soul,
draped with hopelessness
And then in the garden nearby
the lilac blooming in abundance,
the birds chirping,
the bees humming
and the world in blithe,
No one noticed her pensive smile
though blended well
with the crowded world
yet standing aloof
void of humanness
Such was the feeling of disdain
that clouded her mind
and she walked the strenuous path alone
she wouldn’t show
but deep down
she wished to break free
from the shackles of
such ostensible life
