The Good and the Evil – Poem

The torrent of myriad emotions
ran within her deviant heart,

The evil sprouting
with the fervor of a restless sapling
spreading its vein
in every space it could find

And the good
timid like a sacred thought
was hidden beneath some meek
mercy seeking eyes,

The evil was in abundance
luring her with a smirk
tempting her to take the devious path
where vices appear
like a charming thought
and the path to goodness
laced with thorns of vagueness
hard to follow the arduous world

But despite the devil’s plan,
her conscientious took her
on a path less taken
but she was glad she took one

for she found her inner self
while taking the formidable path
she now often smiles
without any prejudice
without any reason
and without any pretentious fear
and she soared

  6. Many times in life we are faced with this situation….and to make that right choice of path is important. Beautiful words describing the choice between the good and evil!
