Ephemeral

You postpone happiness
and assume you have eternity
in your pockets,

you think the sunshine you yearn for
should be a few shades brighter
then the one you have now

and the life
you want to live
needs a few more layers of comfort
before you can start enjoying your time

but you are naive
for life is an ephemeral sight
and before you will realize
it will vanish in some momentary trice

  1. Your words are quite powerful, enriching. A call to search within. It challenges us to re-evaluate life through a different lens. To realize what is truly important. Break through the layers and barriers, release yourself to live.

  2. So true. We keep waiting for things to happen while losing the charms of the things we currently have. A much-needed poem for today’s times.
