What My Parents Taught

The character I display,
the candor I swear by,
managing competing schedule,
prioritizing work,
the attitude I show,
the aptitude I display,
my adaptable stance,
the rooting to the ground,
the focus on work,
all such traits and many more
I proudly wear as a badge,
for the austerer environment that my folks created
helped chiseled my character
and made me who am I today

  1. Have you ever wondered what your parents didn’t teach you?
Sometimes parents prepare us for a world that doesn’t exist. Sometimes I wish parents would be more practical. Not sure. Just a thought.
