Festivities of Color

Today I feel as if the evenfall has arrived on the earth,
the hues of turquoise, crimson, cerise and cerulean
draping the smiling visages,

There is chirpiness,
enchanting happiness,
a blithe that shrouded the world,
and even in the chaos and the hullabaloo,
the clamor oozes a calmness
through those colorful eyes,

The mischievousness of some rogue kids
while drenching the passerby,
embracing a loved one with blithe,
the respect for the elders
by applying that small colored dot on the forehead,
all screamed in unison
the festivities of togetherness,
the gaiety of love,
wishing everyone a very happy Holi
