Not her simple drape
or her bare neck
nor the simple metal earrings
or the bare feet
upheld her to be called
the Regina of the estate
But those enigmatic eyes,
the vivid moments that stirred inside
and the benign smile
that left the universe agog
and her graceful poise
all beaconed and screamed
her to be the queen
and donning her simplicity
she ruled the world
