Ostensible Life

I often wonder
why we humans waste a lifetime
trying to impress upon scores of people
who have no bearing on our lives
and in the process
ignore the ones who care for us,
who give the world to us.

And I wonder why
we always yearn for that blue moon
that never exists
ignoring the shimmering light
that always stay beside us

I wonder why
a human could never be happy
with what they possess
and listlessly wander to grab attention
of people in an ostensible life

  2. Shantanu ,
This is absolutely beautifully penned and very true.
It is easy to get caught up in people & personalities, in search of self discovery. A person can find themselves in the people pleasing arena, for just trying to fit into a particular group or gained their.
    Great piece for self reflection
