Consumed in Love

She dreams of wings
to reach beyond the celestial stars
to design her world
to be as beautiful as her thoughts

And his universe
was consumed by
each one of her desires
and to see them fulfilled
is what he now aspires
day night and day again

  1. There is something very sweet and sublime about surrender – to love, to another person. It is so much more uplifting than seeking to fulfill our own every desire. Thank you for bringing light to this. πŸ™‚

  2. As much as beautiful and loving this sounds, it seems a little far fetching!!
Sorry to be a spoiler here.

  3. If I swap the gender probably it is more palatable but you will be surprised. Maybe you have not meet such person in your life. Universe is big miss. I still appreciate your perspective. Thanks for reading and commenting

  4. Such a beautiful written poem, Shantanu! This is the first post I read after logging back from a month-long hiatus. Makes me realise the kind of works I missed reading over the past month πŸ™‚

  5. My pleasure. I have been doing well, except for abruptly going away without any reason. Catching up on all the wonderful poetry. Gonna take forever I think πŸ˜€

  6. You are probably just right, universe is big enough and I might have not yet come across a person like this.
