When you betrayed the first time
you cut like a knife,
there was gore,
heartbreaks and emotional pour
This time when you denounced again,
I was aghast,
baffled and indifferent
but not saddened
For, now your knife is old,
it had lost the shine,
all the sharpness and the grind,
and I am sorry to say
your betrayal doesn’t hurt anymore

but the poem cuts sharp ‘n’ fine…

Oh dear..yes the betrayal is felt deeply the first time then it just becomes the habit.

Over the years we get used to it.Life is nothing but a saga of betrayals where the loss is always our.Though I wont say the knife doesn’t cut but would rather say the wound doesn’t hurt anymore.
I love your take. Thanks for adding your beautiful comment

here’s to strength! may we always persevere and guard ourselves from that which does not assist us on our course of evolving and growth.
Really powerful like a surgical knife incising the malignancy.

Beautiful thought Atifa 🌸😊
Betrayal cuts through the trust and removes it forever 100 %. Incredible words as always Shantanu !!
Thank you so much, James
The knife may be old and blunt but it gives new wounds and so very well said Shantanu, after a one too many, it doesn’t hurt as much.

Most befitting metrical composition👌😊🤗
Leading one to that tip of knife and holding onto it…it nothing more den a prejudiced life. And the biggest fault one does,is to sustain it.Broken to pieces and mending back to a whole…could only be felt by a broken heart.
Thank you so much for your kind comment

My pleasure!! Reminded me of a question once asked of me – “Don’t you think it’s better to end this quick and cleanly with a sharp knife rather than a dull one or a saw??” Of course I answered yes, but was really thinking – “I’m not sure?, aren’t there any other options?” Lucky for me I ended up way better off having ended things!! TMI !! LOL!
Thanks for sharing the moment. And you are right 😊🌸
Ha! Sorry, your post reminded me of that incident. Great post and very well received, Shantanu!!
