The davit,
On a distress ridden ship,
Helping to lower the lifeboats,
With anxious people and perturbed souls,
Giving them a hope,
And a way out,
From the macabre stalemate,
For if I could,
I would be like that winch,
Always extending help,
To the ones who are dangling by a hinge.

Your poetry that I am discovering is enduring! Brilliantly attractive.
