Befuddled

Her thoughts surged like roaring waves,
Questioning his existence,
Often silently.
And few times with vigor.

Her memories clouded his senses,
befuddling his already confused stature,
In a ruthless manner,
obscuring his mind,
Teasing him like some bate.

And in that impetuous moment,
All that his heart could clasp to,
Was a lasso,
Yielding to some naive precedent.
Believing that the storm will abate.
