Don’t make promises,
and pledges that you invariably announce
when your velvet heart swell with exuberance,
and you’re on a cloud nine
‘Cause your elation will disappear,
like effervesces of a soda bottle
and like some bursting bubbles or fading fizz,
your promises will soon vanish
without leaving any residue to question or quiz
Instead of such hollow sight
give me your honest try,
display some purpose,
show some hope,
hold my hands and walk along
For promises are often broken
but what seldom fail
is a committed heart,
standing tall in testing time,
always willing to make a sincere attempt
