Shades on Eyes

Shantanu Baruah's avatarConfab With Me

Defiant heart refuting the truth,
aberrant soul hiding
beneath some hazy soot,
pensive charm silently
rattling the hornetโ€™s nest,
and the crotchet thoughts
defeating some raucous smile

She perfected each one of her move,
disguised every word she spoke,
but despite such fierce strife,
she failed to deceive those innocent eyes

She tried many tricks, coaxed, pleaded, appeared deviant,
yet nothing worked,
for she couldnโ€™t train her eyes to lie,
so she resigned,
and took shelter under the dark shades,
her own refuge under the naked skies

  1. Wow…Very interesting Poem.
Your words are so vividly expressed with deep imagery. Emotional transparency not hidden. She seems quite spiteful, hurting within. Defiance is a way to connect…

  2. You have described the various shades of mind vividly. No matter how much harder you try to deceive other the eyes will always tell the truth.
