at first you display an innocuous smile,
cajoling a pretense
that didn’t mean any harm
winning my innocent heart over
Then you slowly creep into my world,
driving me to a point of obsession
and when I am entrapped
in your deceiving spell
you get what you desire
without much effort
And after Shanghaiing me
into your rile needs
you escape like a speck of dust
into oblivion
leaving my betrayed soul
in a state of disbelief
and then I wonder
who to blame
your miscreant deeds
or my deviant heart
