EGO
The words were never spoken,
The hand though stretched
yet never found the courage
to stop her from behind
The emotions had a sudden burst
but halted in between
before tears could moist his tender eyes
The smile became hollow
The mind a vacuum
The desires were wrapped and stashed
far away from his own reach
And those steps dragged away unforgivingly,
for his obnoxious ego became too big
leaving no space for him to stay
And now that she was gone
lost in some distant oblivion,
and the fact that he was left
with a broken heart to mend,
he remained perplexed and confused,
questioning every time,
why his days had become
poignantly dark and depressingly blind.
