Those hollow eyes looked abstract
pretending to be plausible
yet showing the shudder
of some awry dreams
and though she tried levitating her feelings
it seldom worked to her advantage
as it appeared incongruous to the world
but that didn’t deter her
from putting a brave facade
to iron her life’s wrinkled curls
