Unfulfilled Yore

Shantanu Baruah's avatarConfab With Me

And I met her broken,
crumpled and shattered,
carrying the burden
of few unfinished stories,
and dreams,
that were crushed and rattled

I saw her laden with
unmet promises,
and a dwindling hope,
that had vanished
with no revival scope

I embraced her with all might,
and held her close and tight
She looked at me,
aghast and confused,
questioning me
with her doe-shaped eyes
asking me in silence
why I was wasting my time,
for she had nothing to offer
she was nothing but pain and grime

I smiled and announced,
I like your unfinished world,
for it gives me the opportunity
to complete all your unfulfilled yore.

  1. Ah so lovely this one, shantanu.

Isn’t it wonderful that sometimes what makes love beautiful is two imperfect souls filling the gaps of each other?

  2. They say that the wrong person will find you in peace and leave you to pieces, but the right person will find you in pieces, and will be there with you to enjoy the peace” or something like that.. Your post just reminded me of this.

  3. Aww I’m speechless this is beyond beautiful.A heart like yours needs to be cared with so much love. Love love love these lines”I like your unfinished world,
for it gives me the opportunity
to complete all your unfulfilled yore”.
A deep love which makes us whole.
