He was caught in a quagmire
He was unsure what to do
The intense heat was around him
How could he come through?
He juxtaposed the options
And begin to truly think
Did he want to do something atrocious
Or did he want to stink
The mohair from his sweater
Fell onto the street
And his bright yellow socks
Started melting from the heat
He finally moved his foot
Knowing that wasn’t what he wanted
But what would help him
So he would not get daunted
