Captivation

Like an enigmatic trance,
weaved into a mesh,
layer after layer,
daubed her defiant eyes

And caught in his love’s caper
she swirled like a ballet’s pirouette,
her feet swayed
in rhythm with his beating heart

And her pneuma
blinded by his fragrance,
as if the arrays of lavender farms
were brushed by a gentle wind

She floated,
drifting away into an occult spell,
like the dice on a seance spread,
she fell where his name was engrained

Such was her love,
he was nowhere to be found,
yet his presence
engulfed her moonlit world

  1. You words never fail to drift me into your thoughts/ emotions/ world. And I always come back feeling enchanted.
Thank you for the runic incantations from a ravishing raconteur 💛

  2. This was indeed captivating. How we give ourselves completely and wholly to the person we love.
My fav lines from the poem”She floated,
drifting away into an occult spell,
like the dice on a seance spread,
she fell where his name was engrained”
