Blanket of Snow

The sun lit skies,
Glittering the season’s first snow,
Spreading over the trees,
Beyond the hills,
And by the prickly briers.

Sheets of white,
Draping the world,
With its ivory shroud,
And the shining graupels,
Discreetly escaping,
The soft grip of clouds.

Such is the nature’s caper,
Dancing in tandem,
As if set in some perfect harmony,
So hard to decipher.

And I sit by the windowsill,
Observing the quietude,
And though there is calmness,
Yet I hear nature’s sound,
Leaving me agape,
Dazzled and astound.
