Speaking Eyes

He put countless reasoning,
to prove his innocence,
While his eyes spoke the truth,
His words failed to make any sense.

Alas! All she could offer,
Was just a dreary bight,
For she believed naively,
What was brought to her sight.

Sometimes trust should,
Prevail over what is shown,
One should look beyond the words,
For eyes have a world of its own.
